Mayweather vs. Marquez Postponement

The bout between Mayweather and Marquez is postponed but rumors abound as much as the hype that build up such fights.

Now it is confirmed that even after postponement, the tickets were not sold out days after opening sale-- there are still plenty of cheap tickets to buy-- real cash cows sell out tickets hours after opening. Word on the web says that ticket sales are too low and that the usual big sponsors are not willing to back it up. Golden Boy Promotions is not new to postponing fights that don't sell. It's probably not selling because only very loyal fans are buying the hype and there's too much reference to Pacquiao in how the fight is being promoted. The whole premise of the promo banks on Pacquiao being supposedly defeated by Marquez and that Floyd is the real p4p king instead of Pacquiao because according to Mayweather, he is undefeated and the Pacman lost 3 times, and Floyd continues that Pacman lost to Marquez twice. To the ire of Pacman fans- perhaps a great number boycotts the fight aside from the potential boredom in watching a defensive boxer against a counter puncher. And whenever Pacquiao is mentioned, Pacquiao's next fight is promoted instead.
